ALL ABOUT MOSAIC LEAD

Mosaic Lead helps students discover how God has gifted them and gives them opportunities to practice leadership in real ways. Students will choose a leadership track that interests them, work alongside adult mentors, and complete leadership experiences throughout the year. The goal isn’t to make students wait until they’re older to lead. We believe students can lead, serve, and make a difference today.

Explore where your gifts and interests might lead.

Students choose one of three tracks based on what interests them:

  • Preaching

Explore communicating God’s Word through preaching, teaching, storytelling, and sharing your faith.
  • Discipleship

Explore how people grow in faith through relationships, Scripture, conversation, and spiritual practices.
  • Mission + Outreach

Explore how your gifts can be used to serve others, build relationships, and make a difference in the community.

Each track will have adult mentors who will walk alongside students throughout the year.

Learn from people who are already leading.

Once a month, students will gather for a Leadership Lab with a guest speaker. Students will hear real stories, ask questions, learn practical leadership skills, and connect what they’re learning to their own gifts and experiences. Then, they’ll meet with their cohort (track) to explore how they can apply what they’re learning to their own leadership.

Don’t just learn about leadership. Try it.

Quests are hands-on opportunities for students to practice leadership throughout the year. A quest might be shadowing a preacher, leading a prayer, helping with a Kids Church experience, serving with a mission partner, interviewing a ministry leader, or trying something completely new.

Put your gifts into action.

At the end of the year, each student will work with their mentors to create a capstone experience connected to their track. This is an opportunity to take what they’ve discovered and lead something of their own.

Sample experiences:


  • Preaching: Prepare and preach a short message or devotional.
  • Discipleship: Create and lead a small group, kids church, or intergenerational experience.
  • Mission + Outreach: Identify a community need and plan and lead a service project.

The capstone isn’t about perfection. It’s about giving students a real opportunity to use their gifts and make a difference.

You won’t do this alone.

Each track will have adult mentors who will walk alongside students throughout the year. Mentors will encourage students, share their experiences, ask questions, help them explore their gifts, and provide guidance as they complete quests and develop their capstone.

Mentors don’t have to be experts. They just need to be willing to walk alongside a student.

FAQ'S

We get it! Students have school, sports, activities, family commitments, and lots going on. Mosaic Lead is designed to let you go at your own pace, so you can work on quests when your schedule allows.

There isn’t a weekly deadline for every quest. Students will work with their mentors to complete quests throughout the year at a pace that works for them. Seniors will need to complete their capstone by April, while all other students will complete their capstone by July.

Mosaic Lead can be a natural next step after Confirmation, giving students an opportunity to continue exploring their faith and gifts through leadership. You don’t have to be confirmed to participate, though. If you are in high school and haven't completed Confirmation, let's chat!

Absolutely! Students can explore a different track as they discover new interests and gifts. As Mosaic Lead grows, we hope to build additional tracks and opportunities for students. We also want you to try something that is out of your comfort zone!

Start with what interests you most right now. Your mentors will help you explore your gifts and interests, and you’ll have opportunities to try things along the way.

We know schedules are busy, so missing a gathering doesn’t mean you’re out. Stay connected with your mentors and keep working on your quests at your own pace.

No! Mentors aren’t expected to have all the answers. They’re there to listen, encourage, share their experience, and walk alongside students.
