March 23: God Sends Us Helpers

Scripture: Luke 10:25-37

Have you ever needed help with something big or small? Maybe you’ve been stuck on a tricky puzzle, needed a bandage after a fall, or felt lonely and needed a friend. The good news is that God sends us helpers—and He invites us to be helpers too!

This week, we’ll hear a story Jesus told about a man who was hurt on the road. Many people walked past him without stopping to help, but then a Samaritan—a person others didn’t expect—came by and took care of him. This story reminds us that God calls us to love and care for others, no matter who they are.

Just like the Good Samaritan, we can be helpers in big and small ways. We can share, be kind, and take care of those in need. And when we need help, we can trust that God will send people to support and care for us, too!

Preschool Questions:
Who helped the hurt man in Jesus’ story? (The Good Samaritan.)
How can we be helpers like the Good Samaritan? (By being kind, sharing, helping others.)

Elementary Questions:
Why was it surprising that the Samaritan helped the hurt man? (Because Samaritans and Jews usually didn’t get along.)
What are some ways we can show love and kindness to people who need help? (Listening, serving, giving, including others.)
