Mosaic Mentor Collective

Discipleship is better together.

At Mosaic UMC, we believe faith grows best in community—and no one grows alone. The Mosaic Mentor Collective is our church-wide commitment to surround every child, student, and parent with intentional relationships that help them experience and respond to God’s unconditional love. A collective means we’re all in this together: children, teens, adults, and families supporting one another in every stage of life.

How It Works

The Mosaic Mentor Collective includes several layers of support and encouragement, so that every child, teen, and parent has someone walking alongside them in faith.

Find Your Place in the Collective

Birth to 2 Years Old

Mosaic Champions come alongside parents of littles by encouraging, praying for, and checking in with them. Whether through a quick text, a coffee meet-up, or a visit, Champions offer wisdom, a listening ear, and the gift of presence. Optional group gatherings provide additional connection and support along the way.

Impact: Parents feel supported, reminded they’re not alone, and equipped for early discipleship at home.

3 years - 5th Grade

Buddies walk alongside kids by showing up in meaningful ways throughout the year—meeting 6–8 times before worship, writing notes of encouragement, praying faithfully, and cheering them on at games, concerts, and school events. Buddies also help create opportunities for elementary kids to serve, reminding them they are loved, supported, and part of something bigger.

Impact: Kids see what faith looks like in everyday life through friendship and presence.

6th - 12th Grade

Partners (seasoned Mosaic Students) are paired with newcomers to create a culture of welcome, inclusion, and spiritual leadership within the student ministry itself.

Impact: Builds a culture of belonging, leadership, and discipleship among students.

6th - 12th Grade

Every student identifies five mentors who will walk with them through their teen years. This journey includes:

  • Confirmation
  • Serving & worship opportunities
  • Honest conversations about faith
  • Guidance through big life transitions
  • Long-term encouragement and belonging
  • Impact: Every student at Mosaic is surrounded by a team of five mentors—trusted adults who commit to walking with them through their teen years. This web of relationships provides stability, care, and encouragement in a season of life full of change.

Yes! We'll provide a training, guidance, resources, and ongoing encouragement so you feel equipped.

That's exactly why the Collective exists! We want to make sure no child or student has to grow in faith alone. Families are an important part of this journey too, and together with mentors we create a circle of encouragement so every child feels seen, supported, and guided in their faith.
