March 30: We Belong In God's Family

Scripture: Luke 15:11-32

Have you ever lost something really special—like a favorite toy or a stuffed animal? When you finally find it, you feel so happy! This week, we’ll hear a story Jesus told about a father who lost something very special—his son.

In the story, the younger son took his father's money and left home. But after making some bad choices, he realized he wanted to go back. He thought his father would be angry, but instead, his father ran to him with open arms and threw a big celebration! Jesus told this story to show us what God is like—loving, forgiving, and always ready to welcome us home.

No matter what we’ve done or where we’ve been, God is always making space for us. We belong in God’s family, and He is always ready to welcome us with love!

Preschool Questions:
What did the father do when his son came home? (He ran to him and gave him a big hug!)
Who loves us no matter what and welcomes us into His family? (God!)

Elementary Questions:
Why did the younger son leave home, and what happened when he returned? (He took his father’s money, spent it all, and later realized he needed to come home, where his father welcomed him with love.)
What does this story teach us about God’s love? (That God always welcomes us, forgives us, and we belong in His family.)
