March 16: We Can Give Back To God

Scripture: Matthew 25:14–29; Deuteronomy 26:1–11

Have you ever watched the credits at the end of a movie? Every person on the film crew plays an important role—some operate the cameras, others edit the scenes, and some add music. Even though they all do different jobs, they work together to make something amazing!

This week, we’ll hear a story Jesus told about three workers who were given different amounts of gold. Some workers used their gold wisely and made more, while one worker buried his and did nothing with it. Jesus taught that God gives each of us gifts, talents, and resources—not to hide them, but to use them for His glory!

In Deuteronomy, God’s people were also reminded to bring their first and best gifts to God as an offering of thanks. When we use what God has given us to serve, love, and give, we are giving back to Him!

Preschool Questions:
What did the workers in Jesus’ story do with their gold? (Some used it wisely, but one buried it.)
Who gives us all the gifts and talents we have? (God!)
What are some ways we can give back to God? (Helping others, sharing, praying, being kind.)

Elementary Questions:
Why was the master happy with the workers who used their gold wisely? (Because they made the most of what they were given.)
What does it mean to give back to God? (Using our time, talents, and resources to serve Him and others.)
What is one gift or talent you have that you can use for God? (Encourage kids to think of specific skills or ways they can help.)
