Faith in Pieces | Episode 1: Hell...on Mother's Day?
Building faith together — piece by piece, story by story.
Hell isn’t exactly a light and breezy topic — and it’s definitely not what most people expect to hear about on Mother’s Day. But in the first episode of our new podcast, Faith in Pieces, we take a closer look at what Jesus actually meant when he spoke about hell… and it might not be what you think.
In this conversation, we recap Sunday’s message and reflect on the idea of Gehenna — a real place outside Jerusalem that Jesus’ listeners would’ve known firsthand. It wasn’t just a metaphor for eternal punishment. It was a site of devastation, corruption, and pain. And it invites us to ask a deeper question:
Where are the Gehenna places in our world today?
Where do we see suffering, abandonment, injustice, and despair — and how are we called to bring light into those places?
We also take on two bold listener questions:
Is church always supposed to be fun?
Is Jesus really the only way?
These are the kinds of honest, unfiltered questions this podcast was made for — the ones we’re often afraid to ask out loud. So we’re wrestling with them in real time, with real voices, and minimal editing. Because we believe questions belong here.
